AFTER their successful expeditions into Siberia last year, the Silk Road in 2001, Indochina in 2000 and Tibet in 1999, PETRONAS Adventure Team (PAT) has finally gained the experience and confidence to tackle the "mother of all journeys" - into Africa.
Dubbed the "Africa Trek 2003", the 47-member, 21-truck expedition will be flagged off from the bustling port city of Durban, in South Africa, on July 2nd, 2003. For the next 49 days, they will traverse through seven countries and 14 border crossings covering 14,800km.
The expedition concludes in Cape Town overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on August 19.
