On Turkish-US relations, US Ambassador Robert Pearson has said that there was never a day when the United States was not a friend of Turkey. On the PKK [Kurdistan Workers' Party] presence in northern Iraq, the ambassador said: We have made a clear promise; the PKK will not be allowed in northern Iraq in any way.
