Satellite broadcaster YES is still losing vast sums of money - about NIS 123 million per quarter - but its financial results are improving. YES's first quarter 2003 revenue rose 7% to NIS 199 million, thanks to its expanding customer base and rising average revenue per subscriber. YES added 14,000 new subscribers in the quarter to reach 393,000. The number is below the target of 6,000 new subscribers per month set by YES CEO Shlomo Liran when YES published its fourth quarter 2002 report. On the other hand, the average revenue per subscriber rose by 2.2% to NIS 175.20 per month.
