Banda Aceh, May 22 (ANTARA) - Free Aceh Movement (GAM) rebels and government troops on Thursday continued to be involved in battles in different parts of Aceh and five GAM members were killed, according to a military source.

"The armed clashes are still going on in East Aceh, Aceh Besar and West Aceh. Three GAM members were shot dead in Ujung Pancu in Aceh Besar and two others were killed in East Aceh," martial law authorities chief Maj Gen Endang Suwarya said here Thursday evening.
