CHARLOTTE COUNTY -- A former Putnam County administrator and city manager for Crystal River has been offered one of the top posts in Charlotte County government.

Roger Baltz, 42, has verbally accepted the county's offer to become an assistant administrator, said County Administrator Bruce Loucks.

"We still have to work out his salary," Loucks said.

Baltz, now parks and recreation director for the city of Lodi, Calif., interviewed for the job this week.

Loucks said he'd like to reach an agreement on salary with Baltz before Tuesday so he can get the commissioners' approval at …
