HRADEC KRALOVEC, East Bohemia, May 21 (CTK) - The capacity of a refugee camp in Kostelec nad Orlici, east Bohemia, will be extended by about 200 beds to 500, today's regional daily Deniky Bohemia writes.
The new beds, designated for refugees from Chechnya who are coming to the Czech Republic from Poland, will be installed in provisional facilities, the daily writes.
According to the paper, local residents are afraid of the new wave of refugees.
However, according to municipal police chief Petr Paulus, there is no increased security risk beyond the camp premises.
"Our patrols go round the camp and the adjacent municipal neighbourhood twice or three times a day. We are not planning to change this for the time being," Paulus said.
