SARASOTA -- A Tampa developer has filed preliminary plans with the city for a $75 million hotel and condominium complex on Fruitville Road downtown.

In addition to an 11-story Hilton hotel, United American Realty's four-building project would include retail space, residences and parking, according to the tentative plans.

Perhaps just as significantly, United American's plans include 47,000 square feet of conference space, three times the amount in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, which has the most meeting space available downtown.
