A CHARITY is hoping to raise awareness about animal oral health in Bristol pet owners during National Smile Month.

The People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) is concerned about the increasing number of dental problems it is seeing in the nation's pets.

Approximately 85 per cent of dogs and cats aged three years or over suffer from some degree of dental disease.

The PDSA advises people to conduct regular home health checks, brush their pet's teeth daily with a soft toothbrush and pet toothpaste - not human toothpaste.
