Brunei Darussalam yesterday inked a joint venture agreement with Thailand that would ensure a long-time security supply of rice and sugar to the Sultanate.

In a ceremony jointly presided over by Korn Dabbaransi, the deputy prime minister of Thailand, and Dato Paduka Hj Yakub, Brunei's deputy minister of finance, the joint venture agreement for the setting up of Brusiam Food Alliance Co. Ltd in Thailand was signed between the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan [Ruler] of Brunei Darussalam and Chia Meng Co. Ltd, Thailand.
