IRVINE, Calif. -- IRVINE, Calif., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- D-Link, the worldwide leader in manufacturing of networking, Broadband and digital electronic technologies, today introduced the next evolution of its medium-to high-end enterprise-level switching line that combines the lightning-fast speed of Gigabit switch chassis-based stackable technology with the flexibility, versatility and value of a stackable solution. With an integrated 10Gig-Stacking system, advanced multi-layer 2/3/4 packet classification and prioritization, intelligent network management and robust security policies, the D-Link DGS-3224SR is designed to meet the infrastructure requirements from small high-performance workgroups to large departmental data centers. D-Link's DGS-3224SR incorporates features found only in expensive chassis-based switches, including high port density, hot swapping, redundant power options, link aggregation, Rapid Spanning, advanced security and network management.

The D-Link DGS-3224SR is a Layer 2 managed switch that provides clients with 24 10/100/1000Mbps ports, 4 combo ports that support small form-factor pluggable (SFP) Gigabit transceivers and 2 rear 10Gbps stacking ports. The D-Link DGS-3224SR also supports the use of the D-Link DPS-500 Redundant Power Supply Unit, which lets administrators ensure maximum uptime for the switches in their stack. The new switch can be added into stacks of up to 10 switches in a "fail safe ring" through the use of the built-in 10Gbps stacking ports. By using Link Aggregation, users can combining up to eight 10/100/1000Mbps links, creating a single, logical, load-sharing group for increased performance and redundancy. In addition the DGS-3224SR takes advantage of Spanning Tree (IEEE 802.3d) and Rapid Spanning Tree (802.3w) protocols for increased network reliability and availability.

"D-Link has combined Gigabit speeds into a stackable switch giving businesses the scalability they need without sacrificing performance," said Steven Joe, President of D-Link. "Our new Gigabit switch delivers the powerful features found in expensive chassis-based switches."

For network management the DGS-3224SR supports many options including Command Line Interface (CLI) console, telnet, web-based interface, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) versions 1, 2 and 3, Remote Network Monitoring (RMON), Trivial File ...
