LOWER HUTT'S retail sector continues to boom, with 200 jobs expected to be provided from a new Harvey Norman store and nine other shops in the complex.

Harvey Norman has confirmed plans to build a four-level store with underground parking for 250 cars on the old Honda site by the Melling Bridge.

The entire complex would provide jobs for about 200 people, Harvey Norman general finance manager Neil Berryman said. In addition, the project will provide construction jobs for a year.
