Treasury Secretary Snow restates US support for a strong dollar.

The US administration is committed to supporting a strong US dollar, Treasury Secretary John Snow said, after a recent precipitous slide in the value of the greenback.

"We believe in a strong dollar," Snow said in an interview on Fox News.

Snow added that the best way to ensure that the dollar regains it strength is to emphasize strong economic fundamentals.

"There's a market for the dollar. And the best thing we can do to have a strong dollar is to see that the fundamentals of the American economy are strong," he said
