RHP Brett Myers PHILLIES

Role: Myers, 22, has settled into the back of the Phillies' rotation in his first full season in the majors. The signing of Kevin Millwood, who gives the team the No. 1 starter it was lacking, should help keep some of the pressure off Myers, a first-round draft pick out of Englewood High in Jacksonville four years ago.

Stuff: He is a power pitcher with good command of his fastballs--a four-seamer, a sinker and a cutter. His four-seamer and his cutter top out at about 94 mph, his sinker at 92. The four-seamer is tough on righthanders because it rides in on their hands. He also throws a 12-to-6 curve with a hard drop that he is learning to use for an out pitch. He still has to work on throwing it where he wants, but already he does a good job of changing speeds with it. He also shows an above-average change-up that could become a plus pitch.
