During the 2002-03 school year, median salaries for college administrators rose 3.5%, according to the annual survey by the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR).

Although smaller than last year's increase of 4.7%, the 3.5% increase marks the sixth straight year of outpacing the rate of inflation, reported at 1.5%. But with today's tight economy, don't expect much of an increase for next year.

The 2002-03 Administrative Compensation Survey reports median salaries for 167 jobs at 1,415 two-year, baccalaureate, comprehensive and doctoral schools.
