SIR: Although I am no anthropologist, I am prompted to comment on the Windschuttle matter.

Since we are all of mongrel genetic make-up, linked via our common Hominid ancestors, and all derived at some stage from primitive nomadic stone-age tribesmen, it should not be regarded as "racist" or "politically incorrect" to say that the precursors of the Tasmanian Aborigines were the most primitive of the various early Aboriginal settlers/invaders of the Australian continent, as they presumably arrived first.

Coming, as it is believed, from the north, they presumably spread across the land, arriving in Tasmania before the sea level rose, or the land bridge subsided. It is reasonable to suppose that later waves of Aboriginal invaders/settlers, perhaps from islands ...
