(From Czech News Agency)
PRAGUE, May 1 (CTK) - Representatives of the far-right National Party demonstrated against the Czech Republic's entry to the European Union in Prague's Wenceslas Square today.
However, passersby paid no attention to the event with most of them only stopping shortly at St.Wenceslas Statue.
Party chairwoman Petra Edelmannova spoke about economic consequences and a possible loss of state sovereignty after entry the EU.
Pavel Sedlacek from the National Party said that the country was threatened with gradual Germanisation and that the 1930s events could be repeated. At least the Czech borderlands are threatened with being joined to Germany through Euro-regions, he told CTK.
National Party representatives also criticised the recent opening in Prague of a Sudeten German Landsmannschaft office. They have filed a complaint against its chairman Bernd Posselt and the executive of the company which ensured the opening of the office in Prague. Edelmannova said that they had violated the law.
However, the complaint, which was filed by the party on Wednesday, has been rejected.
