AN INTERNATIONAL Labour Organisation (ILO) report published to mark this week's World Day for Safety and Health at Work has claimed that every year around two million lives and $1.25trn of global economic earnings are lost to work-related accidents and illnesses.
The paper "Safety in Numbers" adds that, on average, working lives are cut by about five years due to work hazards or early retirements from disability following an accident at work.
