SWISS Re has announced that it has replaced Giuseppe Benelli as chief investment officer with the head of its financial services group, Jacques Aigrain.
The company said that the appointment of Mr Aigrain follows a mutually agreed decision that Mr Benelli will step down from the role he began in 2000 and leave Swiss Re, effective immediately.
Swiss Re said his departure is due to a shift in the reinsurer's investment philosophy in the hard market, whereby the company is refocusing its resources primarily on operating business while investments have a reduced risk profile.
