The next two weeks will be exciting for Roger Clemens. The modern day Big Train will roll to his 300th win, and we should be in awe of this feat. The simple fact that he has played this long as a power pitcher and never changed his form or his style is remarkable.
Everyone knows of his competitive nature on the mound, but this guy hates to lose at anything--specially golf.
"When he made his return to Fenway as a Blue Jay, he dominated the Red Sox. After the game, he looked up into the stands. He said he was looking for family, but he was clearly looking for Dan Duquette, the Red Sox general manager who, when Clemens left Boston, wished him well in the "twilight" of his career. Some twilight; Clemens won two World Series rings and three Cy Youngs after that.
Yep, I really think he was put on this earth to play baseball. People throw the word gamer around when talking about The Rocket. That's not even the tip of the iceberg. He's so relentless, he's so driven, he's so dedicated as a player that when I have pitched in the same game he has I've been ashamed to be on the same field with him.
What little I know of him I learned through his teammates and his friends. I know Roger is a family man. He loves his kids and his wife.
