Trades that were attempted, made and rejected were the story of the 2003 draft.

The most profitable trade might have been Philadelphia's move up 15 spots in the first round for defensive end Jerome McDougle. Andy Reid filled a hole and got excellent value for the pick. Teams that play in the NFC championship game aren't supposed to be able to draft players of McDougle's quality, but the Eagles did.
