TOKYO, May 1 Asia Pulse - Construction machinery shipments totaled 1.17 trillion yen in fiscal 2002, up 2.9 per cent from a year before and the first year-on-year rise in six years, according to a survey released Wednesday by the Japan Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association.
The increase was due to strong exports to China and other overseas markets, which offset sluggish domestic demand.
