KOBE STEEL, JFE TO TIE UP IN WELDING MATERIALS TO CUT COSTS.
TOKYO, May 1 Asia Pulse - In an effort to reduce costs, Kobe Steel Ltd. and JFE Steel Corp. plan to tie up in welding materials by consolidating their production facilities and jointly developing new products, The Nihon Keizai Shimbun learned Wednesday.
The alliance will fall outside Kobe Steel's capital tie-up with Nippon Steel Corp. (TSE:5401) and Sumitomo Metal Industries Ltd. (TSE:5405) in steel products.
