KARACHI, May 1 Asia Pulse - Pakistani commercial banks disbursed Rs15 billion (US$259.4 million) among the farmers during July-March, 2002/03, against Rs11.7 billion during the same period in the previous year, showing an increase of 28.3 per cent.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in a statement issued on Tuesday said that despite an increase of 12.4 per cent in the annual target for this fiscal year, the commercial banks had achieved 70.5 per cent of their agriculture credit disbursement targets by the end of March, 2003.
