ISLAMABAD, May 1 Asia Pulse - Pakistan attracted a record US$658 million of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) during the July-March period of 2002/03, against US$287.4 million of FDI realised in the same period in the previous fiscal year.
Minister for Investment and Privatisation, Dr. Hafeez Shaikh, said this shows that confidence of investors has improved in Pakistan's investment climate and continuity of the economic policies by the present democratic government.
Giving further details of the FDI, he said the UK took the lead during this period by investing US$202.7 million, followed by the US with US$163.5 million and the UAE with US$112.7 million.
