COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2003 TO BE POSTPONED OVER SARS.
TAIPEI, May 1 Asia Pulse - Computex Taipei 2003, one of the world's three largest computer fairs, will be postponed until September or October out of growing public concern over the spread of SARS, organizers announced Wednesday.
Chao Yung-chuan, secretary-general of the semi-official China External Trade Development Council (CETRA), which will co-sponsor the annual event with the Board of Foreign Trade (BOFT) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, said that they made the decision on suggestions made by many companies.
Citing the results of a recent survey, a spokesman for the Taipei Computer Association said only about 10 per cent of the companies polled said the fair should be held as scheduled from June 2 to June 6, while the vast ...
