Sars Epidemic Could Be Worse Than Aids.

A Sars expert last night struck fear into health officials in the West and around the world by warning the virus could be more devastating than Aids.

Dr Patrick Dixon, an expert on Aids who is considered Europe's leading futurist, said there was a 25 per cent chance of a Sars pandemic developing into one of the worst health disasters in human history.

And he called on the British Government to address the problem as a matter of national security and act immediately instead of delaying as it had with the foot-and-mouth crisis.
