WHEN THEY'RE ROLLING

The more Texas plays in transition, the more T.J. Ford's special skills shine. He has a knack for finding teammates who have a seam in which to operate. Brandon Mouton is the team's only true scorer, and he has been on lately. If Brian Boddicker or Sydmill Harris is making 3s off the bench, defenses stretch, and Ford is even tougher to contain.

WHEN THEY'RE STRUGGLING

Often, a Texas player will gain position on the low block or will get an offensive rebound or receive a Ford pass as a cutter--yet still can't score. Texas doesn't thrive in structured sets. That leads to a lot of droughts. Teams like to face-guard Ford and keep the ball out of his hands, Once he catches it, the best strategy is to sag off quickly to limit his passing options.
