As I have noted in the past, Summit often turns out some technically fine recordings, and does so without making a big deal out of it. This example features a good piano/drum set/bass blend, with a moderately wide soundstage that dovetails better with a pair of widely spaced main speakers than with a pair that is situated closer together. The sound is a bit distant, which will work with some speaker designs better than others. The music here is anything but flashy, and what you get is a fine example of traditional jazz-trio sound. The musical themes develop from and follow the musical soundtracks in the movie The Wizard of Oz.
