The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) yesterday threatened to boycott the Southern African Development Community (SADC) task force's fact-finding mission to Zimbabwe if government officials are included in the team.
The task force is expected to visit the country to tackle the current political and economic crisis. The team, which comprises South Africa, Botswana and Mozambique, was formed during the August 2001 SADC summit in Blantyre, Malawi. It was mandated "to work with the government of Zimbabwe on the economic and political issues affecting the country".
