Oct. 27--Dennis Delamar is living his dream, and he couldn't have found a more appropriate vehicle for it.
At 54, the retired teacher is fulfilling his lifelong goal of acting professionally, starring as the title character's father in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." The show will kick off the fifth season of the Broadway in Bismarck series on Nov. 7 at the Civic Center.
The oft-performed Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical retells the biblical story of Joseph and His Coat of Many Colors -- with a few colorful liberties.
Joseph's unique ability to interpret dreams and see the future takes him from favored son to slave laborer to Egyptian aristocrat. It does not take a skilled seer to realize Delamar is having the time of his life on a national tour.
