TALLAHASSEE -- Florida State had one final shot, with Greg Carr flying through the air believing he caught the touchdown to beat Boston College two years in a row before the Eagles's Larry Anam ripped the ball and all of those happy feelings away.
But really, the game and the Seminoles' Atlantic Coast Conference season were lost long before on a series of three second-quarter mishaps that led to Florida State's 24-19 loss to No. 22 Boston College at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday.
The loss pushed Florida State (4-3) to 2-3 in the ACC and all but ended its hopes for a turnaround to reach the ACC title game for the second consecutive season.
