Hong Kong, 4 April: A joint meeting of Hong Kong Legislative Council agreed generally on Friday [4 April] to a new scheme relaxing admission of the Chinese mainland professionals.

The new Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals, delivered in February and scheduled to be implemented from July, contains active measures to attract more mainland businessmen to set up businesses in Hong Kong, and allows Hong Kong to enlarge the pool of the talents needed to meet the requirements of a knowledge-based economy.
