SEOUL, April 1 Asia Pulse - South Korean stocks opened weaker early Tuesday due to speculations that an intensified war in Iraq could be much longer than forecast.
Opening 6.64 point lower than Monday's close, the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) stood at 530.40 as of 9:20 a.m., down 5.30 point, or 0.98 per cent.
Trading volume was 65.11 million shares for a turnover of 220.7 billion won (US$176.34 million). Losers led gainers by 392 to 205.
