TAIPEI, April 1 Asia Pulse - The state-owned Chinese Petroleum Corp. (CPC) said that the price of domestic petroleum will remain unchanged for the time being for the sake of stabilizing domestic oil and commodity prices.
CPC officials said that world crude oil prices are fluctuating due to the U.S.-led military campaign against Iraq, and that they will keep close tabs on the developments in the international oil market.
The officials noted that the second quarter is traditionally the low season for the crude oil market, because of the fall-off in demand from the winter. The war in Iraq, however, saw crude oil prices shoot to 10-year highs.
