LLOYD'S-sponsored on-line insurance hub Project Blue Mountain has named the first group of companies to have signed letters of intent to use its operating platform.
The companies are insurance brokers Marsh and Willis and four London-based insurers, Ace Europe, Amlin, Beazley and Wellington, all of which are beginning implementation of the technology with the intention of going live in the summer.
Together these companies represent around 40% of UK broking business and 20% of Lloyd's capacity, said the company.
Chief executive of project Blue Mountain, Ashok Gupta, said: "Last year we designed and built the platform in conjunction with partners, including HP and CGI. Now we are preparing to roll out the brand and start implementation with a targeted group of users."
Mr Gupta added: "We are pleased to have such high quality blue-chip companies involved. Over the next three months we will now be working on connecting them together and implementing more efficient processes."
