BERMUDIAN finite risk operation Imagine Insurance saw its net income nearly double during 2002, writes Richard Banks.
The company, which at the beginning of the year revealed an agreement giving it the option to acquire a 66.67% equity and voting interest in Lloyd's operation Greenwich Managing Agency (GMA), has reported net income for last year of $28.5m.
In 2002 Imagine Insurance, which specialises in finite risk insurance and reinsurance, with offices in Barbados, Bermuda, Dublin, Copenhagen, New York and St Louis, achieved net underwriting income of $29m nearly three times the previous year's figure. Imagine also confirmed it has received a $100m capital boost through a common share subscription by majority shareholder Brascan Corporation at the end of last year.
