PENANG, Sat. - The Malaysia Medical Relief Society (Mercy Malaysia) will send a larger team of volunteers to Jordan to provide relief if there is an exodus of refugees from Iraq.
The society is on a nationwide recruitment drive to get more volunteers, said executive council member Dr Mohd Ikram Mohd Salleh.
Mercy Malaysia has five volunteers a co-ordinator, two doctors, a nurse and a military officer - providing relief for war refugees in a hospital at Ruwaished, which is about 60km from the Iraqi border.
The hospital is operated by the Jordan Red Crescent and Mercy Malaysia.
