Smokers are being asked to put out their cigarettes next week and try to quit the habit forever.
Lots of organisations in Hull are taking part in national No Smoking Day on Wednesday March 12.
Most of the events have been organised by the stop smoking service at Hull and East Riding Community Health NHS Trust, which works to help smokers kick the habit.
April Cundy said the service was working hard to offer help and support to people trying to give up.
"No Smoking Day is important for us," said Mrs Cundy.
"It gives us the opportunity to make people aware of what is available to them.
