MALAYSIAN students evacuated from Amman on Wednesday described the situation in Jordan as peaceful despite its close proximity to Iraq.

Muhammad Noramin Baharom, 21, said everyone in Jordan was going about their daily routine.

"However, I did see a lot of foreigners in Jordan, especially several Iraqi people, whom I believe were there because they wanted to get away from the war," he said.

Muhammad Noramin said at first, he did not want to return to Malaysia because Amman was relatively peaceful.
