Advisors and practitioners alike repeatedly stress the importance of talking about a scorecard 'programme' rather than a scorecard 'project'.
As Professor Andy Neely of Cranfield School of Management explains, "A project suggests something that has a starting date and a completion date.
However, managers should look at the balanced scorecard as something that's never going to finish; as something which is going to be an ongoing feature of the organisation. Therefore 'programme' is a more appropriate word."
