SINGAPORE and the Philippines are the only Asean countries supporting the invasion of Iraq by the United States and its allies, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday.
He said the remaining eight Asean members opposed the use of force and unilateral measures to resolve conflicts.
Syed Hamid said the foreign ministers of Singapore and the Philippines stated their stand during the informal meeting of the Asean Foreign Ministers in Karambunai, Sabah, last week.
The meeting discussed the war but no consensus was reached.
