At an interview with reporters yesterday, Hong Kong Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa said: Leaders of the central authorities repeatedly stressed that the central authorities would, as always, support and help Hong Kong achieve economic transformation.

Following is the full text of Tung Chee-hwa's remarks made in answering reporters' questions at the interview held yesterday after he met President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao.

[Chief Executive] I was very glad to come to Beijing to attend the closing ceremony of the National People's Congress session.
