Panic gripped Madogo residents last Saturday [possibly 8 March or 15 March] after a highly explosive bomb was discovered in a mosque in Tana River District [eastern Kenya].

Confusion crippled business operations in the town for the better part of the weekend when word went round that the bomb was set to explode in two hours' time.

Security personnel, with the help of military intelligence officers from the First Kenya Rifles detachment unit in Garissa town, took eight hours to detonate the bomb.
