Hong Kong's unemployment rate last month rose to its highest level since September as a drop in building projects meant fewer jobs in the construction industry, the government said yesterday.

The seasonally-adjusted jobless rate climbed to 7.4 per cent in February from 7.2 per cent in both January and December, with job losses in the manufacturing and transport sectors as well, the administration said.
