TWO parliamentary committees have urged that the Combating of Domestic Violence be passed quickly and without any changes.

The recommendation by the National Assembly's standing committees follows heated debate during which several male members of the House vowed to oppose the Bill.

As a result the draft law was referred to the Governmental Affairs Committee and the Human Resources, Equality and Gender Development Committee for further consultations.
