Pekan, 15 March: The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has been instructed to make preparations to evacuate Malaysians in West Asia if a war breaks out in Iraq, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said today.

He said at least five C-130 RMAF transport planes would be deployed to ferry Malaysians in countries neighbouring Iraq such as in Syria, Jordan and Iran.

"At the moment, the Defence Ministry has directed the air force to make initial preparations to provide at least five C-130 aircraft.
