Margaret Wise -- declaring in her Mississippi drawl that this is the last, positively the last, big gala she's chairing for awhile -- had a hit on her hands as soon as the Ritz ballroom doors opened on the Healthcare Foundation's Corinthian Ball the other night. David Letterman's music man, Paul Shaffer, was the party headliner, volunteering since his dad received great care at Sarasota Memorial a couple of years ago. Paul sang and played piano during The American Swing Orchestra's "Salute to Benny Goodman."
