MANATEE COUNTY -- Thursday's election seemed to go without a hitch. Poll workers checked registrations, lined up voters and helped those having trouble reading their ballots.

Unlike past troubled Florida elections, in which seniors had trouble deciphering poorly designed ballots, this election had a different challenge: Getting children who are still learning their ABC's to understand what they were voting about.
