Michigan Health Alliance Using Remote, Mobile Systems Management Software on the Nextel Network to Manage and Maintain Business-Critical Applications
Inciscent, Inc., a wired-to-wireless software and solutions provider, and Nextel Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:NXTL), a leading provider of fully integrated digital wireless communications, today announced the commercial availability of Inciscent Command & Control (IC2) network and systems management software for the Blackberry 6510(TM) from Nextel.
IC2 is the first Java application certified by Nextel for the Blackberry 6510 and enables IT professionals to securely manage, configure and troubleshoot enterprise information systems and data networks, in real time, from virtually any location on Nextel's nationwide network.
Borgess Medical Center, a nationally recognized teaching hospital and tertiary care center in Southwest Michigan, is already using IC2 on the Blackberry 6510 from Nextel to provide remote support for its 4,000 health-care professionals and patients.
The Borgess network operations staff manages and maintains a wide range of systems and servers that support a variety of business-critical applications including the radiology image archiving and communications system; human resources and payroll systems; clinical charting and appointment scheduling applications; pathology lab applications, and many other clinical and departmental systems.
