The traditional role of campus grassroots women's groups is to advocate for change to improve the climate for women. But what happens to them when the school develops a comprehensive, sanctioned, funded Women's Center?
That remains to be seen at the University of Dayton OH, which opened its new Women's Center in January 2003. While the center's creation could have been the death knell for the groups, those at Dayton understand the importance of symbiosis and interdependence.
